Board Elects Two New Members in 2012

John G. Baab and Tamara R. (Tammy) Bailey were elected to the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Foundation Board of Directors in 2012.

John, who retired as managing partner of Ernst & Young’s West Michigan practice in 1998, serves on the Foundation’s Investment and Finance Committees. In 1988, he transferred from Ernst & Young’s national office in Cleveland to Grand Rapids, where he soon became involved with several community organizations. He served on the board of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation and chaired the Economic Club of Grand Rapids and the Dean’s Advisory Board for Grand Valley State University’s Seidman School of Business. He also was on Grand Action’s Executive Committee during construction of the Van Andel Arena, was Vice- Chair of the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Grand Rapids Symphony Board. In addition, he served on the Grand Rapids Foundation Investment Committee and the Boy Scouts Advisory Board.

Bailey serves on the Foundation’s Development Committee. She is a vice president at Northern Trust Company with more than 29 years’ experience as a wealth strategist. She is on the Board of the Grand Rapids Art Museum and serves on various committees for Hospice of Michigan, the Heart of West Michigan United Way, Grand Haven Area Community Foundation and Saint Mary’s Foundation. She is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association, West Michigan Estate Planning Council, Lake Michigan Estate Planning Council, Western Michigan Planned Giving Group and the National Council on Planned Giving.
