The Foundation Welcomes New Board Member Sean Welsh

The Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Sean Welsh to its Board of Directors.

Sean works as Executive Vice President and Regional President for PNC in Western Michigan, where he oversees the bank’s business strategy and community investment initiatives across the region. He leads teams spanning asset management, retail banking, and corporate and institutional banking, guiding integrated financial solutions that support businesses and communities alike. With more than 35 years of experience, Sean has built and led high-performing teams in commercial real estate, corporate finance, and commercial banking, bringing deep expertise and strategic insight to PNC’s clients.

Sean earned his Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University and received an honorary doctorate from Grand Valley State University. He is committed to bettering the West Michigan community and serves on several local boards, including Corewell
Health, The Right Place, Southwest Michigan First, TalentFirst, the Economic Club of Grand Rapids, First Steps Kent, and the Grand Valley State University Foundation.
